Application Is Now Open For The Teruko Ikeda ICT Training 2014

The Japan Braille Library is now accepting applications for the Teruko Ikeda ICT Training 2014. There will be 2 programmes this year i.e. 1 Intermediate Level and 1 Advance Level.

 

For Intermediate Level Programme, trainees should arrive in Penang, Malaysia on Saturday 26July and return home on Saturday 9 August 2014. As for the Advance Level Programme, trainees should arrive in Penang, Malaysia on Saturday 9 August and return home on Sunday 24 August 2014.

 

In the Intermediate Level Programme, trainees will learn more about the Windows 8 Operating System, NVDA Screen-reader, MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), Internet Browsing, E-mail and Social Media such as Facebook. Other topics can be included based on the request from the trainees.

As for the Advance Level Programme, trainees should already have knowledge in Windows 8 Operating System, NVDA Screen-reader and some experience in blogging. Trainees will learn to create their own website, Internet radio streaming and music editing.

 

Trainees should be visually impaired from countries in the Asia-Pacific Region, possess basic computer skills, have reasonable level of English proficiency, between 18 – 35 years old, healthy and able to live independently. Interested applicants should seek recommendation from the ex-trainees of the Teruko Ikeda ICT Training Programme or go through your local organisation for the blind.

 

Only short-listed applicants will be contacted for interview. The announcement of successful applicants will be made at the end of March 2014. The decision of the Selection Committee is final and we will not entertain any appeal.
