WBUAP June Updates 2012

11th WBUAP Massage Seminar, 3 – 5 May 2012

 

The National Council for the Blind Malaysia (NCBM) hosted this seminar from 3-5 May 2012. 160 overseas and 110 local participants participated. These massage seminars are organised once every two years. The 12th WBUAP Massage Seminar will be held in Thailand in 2014. It is a platform for blind masseurs in the region to exchange skills and experiences so as to upgrade their professional skills.

 

Proclaiming A New Asia-Pacific Decade 2013 – 2022

 

United Nation’s Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific (UNESCAP) comprising member States of the Asia-Pacific region, decided on 23 May 2012 to proclaim a new Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities for the period 2013 to 2022 through the adoption of a historic resolution. 2nd WBUAP Employment Symposium, 20 – 21 September 2012

 

The 2nd WBUAP Employment Symposium will be held alongside the 8th China Information Accessibility Forum on 20 and 21 September, 2012 in Beijing, China hosted by the China Disabled Persons Federation and the China National Braille Library. WBUAP Quadrennial General Assembly

 

The WBUAP Quadrennial General Assembly has been scheduled for 13 November 2012 from 2.00 – 5.00 pm at the Imperial Queens Park Hotel Bangkok, Thailand.

 

President Of The Korean Blind Union Appointed Senator

 

Mr. Choi Dong Ic, President of the Korean Blind Union was appointed a senator to the Korean Parliament at the end of May 2012. We at WBUAP would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to Senator Choi. May his appointment helps to bring a brighter future for the BVIs not only in Korea but the WBUAP Region.
