Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for scholarships offered by the World Blind Union. Preference is given to blind and partially sighted applicants from low income countries.
The scholarships include:
- 1. The Pedro Zurita Youth Fund established by Mr. Pedro Zurita, former Secretary General of the WBU, to assist young blind and partially sighted people to obtain education, training and employment.
- 2. The Barbara Marjeram Braille Literacy Scholarship established in 2008 to commemorate Barbara’s 20-year career at CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) is offered to blind or visually impaired girls and women enrolled in a recognized educational program in their own country, possess Braille reading and writing skills or are willing to learn Braille.
All completed applications should be submitted to the World Blind Union either electronically to mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed in Braille or print to WBU, 1929 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4G 3E8, Canada. Applications are accepted at any time and scholarships will be awarded prior to June 30 of each year.
