Unified English Braille (UEB) is becoming more and more the code of choice for English language braille in WBUAP. Already some countries have adopted UEB. Braille readers who took part in the English reading and writing competition last January in Bangkok used UEB. code. We learned recently that the Rules of UEB are being translated into Japanese.
UEB was developed by the International Council on English Braille. Bill Jolley, a past Treasurer of ICEB, spoke about UEB at the January braille reading competition in Bangkok. You can read his talk here as a Word document.
